Calculating progress across several contribution rates

When eligible wagers have different contribution rates, calculate each group separately. A simple average of percentages can give the wrong progress total.

The key points
  • Multiply each stake group by its own rate.
  • Weight the rate by dollars wagered.
  • Exclude voided or ineligible amounts according to the terms.

Build a small calculation table

List each eligible group of wagers, its settled stake total, and its contribution fraction. Multiply stake by fraction for each row, then add counted amounts. This method remains readable even when several game categories have different rules.

Do not combine cash-funded and bonus-funded wagers unless both qualify under the same definition. The account ledger may distinguish them even when they appear in one game history.

Why the simple average fails

If $90 is wagered at 100% and $10 at 10%, the simple average of the two rates is 55%, but the weighted rate is 91%. The larger stake group determines more of the result. Weighting by dollars avoids treating unequal groups as equal.

This is an explanation of the accounting, not a suggestion for choosing games or allocating stakes. The important question is whether the promotion's displayed progress matches eligible transactions already made.

Reconcile differences without more play

Compare your total with the platform after relevant rounds settle. A discrepancy might reflect pending rounds, bonus-funded exclusions, rounding, or a game-specific exception. Preserve wager IDs and request an itemized calculation.

If the target or contribution table is unclear, stop before adding new transactions. More play does not improve the evidence for a disputed past calculation and may add further losses.

Hypothetical example

Assume $60 of eligible wagers contributes 100% and $40 contributes 25%. Counted progress is $60 + $10 = $70. The weighted contribution across the $100 total is 70%, not the 62.5% simple average of the two rates.

Common questions

Can I average the percentages in the game table?

Only when the wager amounts are equal across those groups. Otherwise use dollar-weighted calculations.

Does counted progress equal money earned?

No. It records qualifying turnover, not a payout or profit.
