Cancelling a bonus without guessing about forfeiture
Cancelling a promotion can affect unused credit and associated winnings differently. Read the balance-specific consequences before confirming any action.

- Cancellation and withdrawal can trigger different rules.
- Request a dollar breakdown of amounts retained and removed.
- Sunk wagering is not a reason to continue.
Identify what cancellation means
An account may let you decline an unclaimed offer, cancel an active award, or withdraw while a promotion is active. Those actions can have different consequences. Find the rule for the exact action rather than applying a general statement about bonuses.
Unused promotional credit may be removed while other balances remain, but associated winnings may also be affected. Never assume the displayed total survives cancellation. Ask for a preview showing each ledger.
Use a concrete question
Instead of asking whether cancellation is safe, ask: 'My account shows these balances; if I cancel this offer now, how much remains withdrawable and what is forfeited?' Include the offer identifier and ask for the governing clause. Save the reply and any warning screen.
If the system cannot produce a clear breakdown, pausing is reasonable. Do not click through a forfeiture warning merely to discover its meaning. A support conversation can also establish whether there are pending rounds or credits that affect the calculation.
Make the decision from this point forward
Time and wagers already spent cannot be recovered by insisting on completion. Compare the possible additional losses with the value of stopping, rather than treating progress as a debt. You can choose to end participation even when an award is nearly cleared.
If gambling is difficult to stop, cancellation is only one tool. Consider account limits, a break, self-exclusion, and independent support. A promotional rule should not determine whether you seek help.
Worked example · hypothetical
Hypothetical example
A fictional preview lists $35 cash retained, $12 bonus removed, and $8 bonus-derived winnings removed. That is a $20 promotional forfeiture, not necessarily a $55 loss of the entire displayed balance. Verify the actual account's breakdown before acting.

Common questions
Should I withdraw to test whether the bonus cancels?
No. Read the warning and request clarification first if the consequence is unclear.
Does almost completing wagering make cancellation irrational?
No. Future gambling can create additional losses. Existing progress does not require more spending.
