Minimum qualifying deposits and payment exclusions

A minimum deposit is a qualification threshold, not evidence that an offer is affordable. Payment method, timing, and net credited amount may also matter.

The key points
  • A supported payment method may still be excluded from a promotion.
  • Fees can change the amount actually credited.
  • Do not add money just to repair an unclear qualification.

Separate account funding from offer qualification

The cashier may accept a payment that does not qualify for a particular bonus. Terms can restrict methods, currencies, transaction timing, or deposit sequence. Check the exact qualifying event rather than assuming that any successful payment activates the offer.

A minimum threshold can apply per transaction instead of cumulatively. Two deposits of $10 may not satisfy a single-deposit minimum of $20. Conversely, an offer might explicitly aggregate payments. The wording decides.

Use the credited amount

Payment fees, reversals, and currency conversion can create a difference between the amount charged and the amount credited. If eligibility depends on the credited deposit, retain both records. US offers are commonly described in dollars, but that does not remove every possible fee.

A failed or pending transaction is not the same as a settled deposit. Avoid repeated attempts without checking status, since duplicate charges can occur or multiple payments can complicate reconciliation.

Keep the threshold subordinate to your budget

Decide what amount, if any, you could afford to lose before considering the promotion. If that amount is below the minimum, the promotion is unsuitable. Increasing a deposit to unlock a larger award increases your exposure even when the match percentage looks attractive.

When an award does not appear, contact support with the offer ID, opt-in time, payment method, and transaction reference. Do not make an extra deposit until the reason is clear. The original mistake may not be fixable through additional funding.

Worked example · hypothetical

Hypothetical example

A fictional offer requires one $25 deposit through an eligible method. Two $15 transactions exceed $25 in total but do not satisfy a one-transaction rule. This is a qualification example, not a suggestion to deposit a further $25.

Common questions

Does a cashier-listed method qualify automatically?

No. Promotional exclusions may be narrower than the cashier's accepted methods.

Is a minimum deposit a recommended budget?

No. It is a commercial condition. Your affordability limit should be decided independently.
